Liraglutide seems safe, effective in children already on metformin
Key clinical point: Liraglutide is safe and effective in children and adolescents with type 2 diabetes who are on metformin.
Major finding: Liraglutide therapy was associated with a significantly greater decrease in mean glycated hemoglobin levels, compared with placebo.
Study details: The phase 3, randomized, placebo-controlled ELLIPSE study in 134 children and adolescents with type 2 diabetes.
