Quitting Smoking During Pregnancy Cuts SUID Risk
Key clinical point: Quitting smoking during pregnancy reduces risk of sudden unexpected infant death (SUID).
Major finding: Maternal prenatal smoking was associated with 2.44 greater odds of SUID but quitting cut odds by 23%.
Study details: The retrospective observational study analyzed 19,127 SUID cases in the CDC Birth Cohort Linked Birth/Infant Death Data Set for 2007-2011.
