Stock inhalers at school effectively meet students’ rescue medication needs

Key clinical point: School use of stock albuterol inhalers is feasible and effective.

Major finding: 84% of students returned to class after receiving rescue therapy with a stock inhaler at school.

Study details: The findings are based on analysis of stock inhaler use at 246 schools in Pima County, Ariz., during the 2017-2018 school year.
