Water-only fasting may reduce chemo modifications, hospital admissions
Key clinical point: Water-only fasting pre- and post chemotherapy may improve outcomes in some patients with gynecologic cancers.
Major finding: Treatment modifications were required in five patients in the fasting group and eight in the control group. There were no hospital admissions in the fasting group and two in the control group.
Study details: A randomized study of 23 women with cancers of the ovaries, uterus, and cervix.
