CVD Risk After Breast Cancer: Adipose Distribution Trumps BMI
Key clinical point: Greater visceral or intramuscular adiposity, even in the face of normal BMI, increases breast cancer survivors’ CVD risk.
Major finding: CVD risk rose by 15% with each SD in visceral adiposity and by 21% with each SD in intramuscular adiposity.
