Lymph node involvement in hidradenitis suppurativa

Key clinical point: Patients with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) are likely to have reactive inguinal lymph nodes.

Major finding: A high proportion of patients with HS had at least 1 reactive or hyperplastic lymph node. Patients with the most severe disease (Hurley III) had the highest prevalence of reactive lymph nodes (100%), typically in the inguinal region rather than the axillary folds.

Study details: Retrospective analysis of sonographic images of 85 patients with HS (22 in Hurley I, 36 in Hurley II, and 27 in Hurley III).

Disclosures: The study did not receive any funding. The authors declared no conflicts of interest.
