N.J. law, EMR alerts appear effective at reducing opioid prescriptions

Study details: New opioid prescriptions for acute pain in New Jersey and Pennsylvania issued in the Penn Medicine system were examined in the year before a New Jersey law limiting opioid prescriptions went into effect. It was compared with a period after an EMR intervention was implemented to remind physicians of the New Jersey law.
