A new recommendation statement from US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends screening for preeclampsia in all pregnant women throughout pregnancy. The statement is an update to the USPSTF 1996 recommendation on screening for preeclampsia and was developed based on a review of the evidence on the accuracy and diagnostic tests for preeclampsia, the potential benefits and harms in screening for preeclampsia, and the benefits and harms of treatment of screen-detected preeclampsia. The updated recommendation statement reads:

• The USPSTF recommends screening for preeclampsia in pregnant women with blood pressure measurements throughout pregnancy. (B recommendation).
