Acid-suppressant medications in infants with bronchiolitis raises later allergy risk
Key clinical point: Use of acid-suppressant drugs in infants for severe bronchiolitis may increase their risk of developing wheeze at age 3 years.
Major finding: Of the infants who received acid-suppressant medications, 43% went on to develop recurrent wheeze, compared with 29% who were not exposed.
