Younger children can safely visit HSCT recipients (sometimes)

Key clinical point: Allowing children to visit patients on a blood and marrow transplant unit can be safe with proper precautions.

Major finding: There were no increases in hospital-associated infections or average length of stay after children were allowed to visit a BMT unit.

Study details: Retrospective review of data on 71 child visits following implementation of new visitation policy.
