Pregnancy in Hodgkin Lymphoma
Assessing risk of relapse
Pregnancy after diagnosis does not increase the relapse rate among women whose Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) is in remission, according to a study of 449 women with HL, including 144 who became pregnant during follow-up. Researchers found:
• Overall, 47 relapses were recorded, 1 of which was pregnancy-associated.
• Adjusted hazard ratio comparing pregnancy-associated relapse rate vs non-pregnancy relapse rate was 0.29.
• The expected number of relapses in women with a recent pregnancy was 3.76; the observed-to-expected ratio was 0.27.
