Statins linked to improved survival in multiple myeloma

Key clinical point: The use of statins was associated with an overall reduction in mortality.

Major finding: The use of statins was associated with a 21% reduction in risk of death in all patients with multiple myeloma, and a 10% risk reduction in those treated with novel agents.

Study details: A total of 5,922 multiple myeloma patients were retrospectively assessed for 2007-2013.
