No Increased Bleeding Risks for Patients Undergoing Endoscopy

Key clinical point: Patients with inherited bleeding disorders undergoing gastrointestinal endoscopy were not at increased bleeding risk, compared with the general population.

Major finding: The overall rate of postendoscopy bleeding was 0.98%, and the rate of colonic postpolypectomy bleeding was 4.8%.

Study details: A retrospective study of 48 patients with congenital bleeding disorders undergoing a total of 104 endoscopies at a dedicated hemophilia treatment center.
