This Has Little Value in Some with cHL Post-Auto-HCT
Clin Lymphoma Myeloma Leuk; ePub 2017 May 12; Kapke, et al
Routine surveillance imaging may not be very useful in patients with classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) who achieve complete remission following autologous hematopoietic cell transplantation (auto-HCT), according to a multicenter, retrospective study involving 128 individuals.
Participants who achieved complete remission post-transplant were followed with routine surveillance imaging. Nearly one-fourth relapsed after 100 or more days post auto-HCT. Among the results:
- When comparing clinically- (n=14) to radiographically-detected relapse (n=15), there were no significant differences in overall survival, time to relapse, and post-relapse survival.
- A median of 4 surveillance imaging studies were done over a median follow up period of 3.5 years in those who never relapsed.
