‘Fast MRI’ May Be Option in TBI Screening for Children

Key clinical point: Fast MRI could be an alternative to CT in children with possible traumatic brain injury.

Major finding: Fast MRI’s sensitivity at detecting traumatic brain injury was 92.8% (95% confidence interval, 86.3-96.8).

Study details: A prospective study of 223 children aged younger than 6 years with possible traumatic brain injury who were screened with both CT and fast MRI.
