Grants awarded for eosinophilic-related disease research

The American Partnership for Eosinophilic Disorders (APFED) has awarded two pilot grants through its Hope on the Horizon Research Fund. Antonella Cianferoni, MD, PhD, of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania will receive $140,000 over a two-year period in equal amounts from APFED and the Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Education and Research Organization, Inc. for a study of “Genotype Phenotype Correlation in Eosinophilic Esophagitis.” Ting Wen, PhD, of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, will receive $50,000 for a one-year project titled “Defining Esophageal Lymphocyte Phenotype and Function in Eosinophilic Esophagitis.” For additional information on the Hope Grant Awards, visit the APFED website at http://www.apfed.org.
