Low LDL cholesterol may increase women’s risk of hemorrhagic stroke

Key clinical point: Women with low LDL cholesterol or low triglycerides should be monitored for modifiable risk factors for hemorrhagic stroke.

Major finding: Women in the lowest category of LDL cholesterol level had approximately twice the risk of hemorrhagic stroke.

Study details: A prospective analysis of data for 27,937 participants in the Women’s Health Study.
