Stephen Bartlett, RPh, MSPH, discusses the barriers preventing access to clinical oncology trials for veterans, the programs and policy that are aiming to improve access to trials in VAMCs, and how the SWOG-VA working group is aiming to effect change and open cooperative group trials to veterans.

“The problem we have is inadequate access to oncology clinical trials in the VA,” Bartlett said during his 2014 AVAHO Meeting presentation in Portland, Oregon. “The ability to open any non-VA trials in the VHA has been severely limited.”
