Cardiovascular events in U.S. RA patients fall to non-RA level
Key clinical point: Data from a single, large U.S. center suggest that the cardiovascular disease risk in rheumatoid arthritis patients dropped substantially during 1980-2009.
Major finding: During 2000-2009, patients with rheumatoid arthritis had 12% fewer cardiovascular disease events than matched adults without RA.
Study details: Retrospective study of 1,811 people enrolled in the Rochester (Minn.) Epidemiology Project.
