FDA Invites Patient Organizations to Organize Public Meetings to Enhance Awareness of Their Needs

In 2012 legislation known as the FDA Safety and Innovation Act, the Food and Drug Administration was authorized to conduct a series of 20 public meetings focusing on specific diseases to enhance understanding of the patient experience. Now, the FDA has announced that patient organizations whose diseases were not included in this series may organize their own meetings for this purpose.
