References

The Pediatric Endocrine Society has published guidelines to help physicians distinguish between transitional neonatal glucose regulation in normal newborns and hypoglycemia that persists or occurs for the first time beyond the first three days of life. Children with congenital hyperinsulinism are at risk for serious consequences, including seizures or permanent brain damage, without early identification and screening.
